Danny has more than 25 years of extensive international experience in real estate investment, private equity and venture capital, investment banking and asset management. Danny co-founded GAIA in 2009. He previously founded and was Co-CEO of Tamir Fishman, an Investment bank and asset management company with billions in assets under management. He has held board positions with numerous government housing, development, and real estate investment companies and is the former co-head of the Israeli government’s privatization unit.
Mr. Fishman earned a B.Sc. in Economics and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
David oversees the firm’s acquisitions efforts by sourcing, evaluating, and closing new investment opportunities. He is also responsible for GAIA’s due diligence and transaction execution of new assets as well as managing the firm’s dispositions.
Mr. Kusy holds a B.A. in Economics and Government from Connecticut College, a M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, and is a CFA charterholder.
Mark currently oversees the company’s multi-family asset management platform. He started his real estate career with JPMorgan Global Real Assets in 2004 as a real estate investment analyst. Over the years, Mark has overseen more than $10 billion in multifamily investments, which included 210 multifamily properties consisting of approximately 55,000 units throughout the country. He has worked with some of the most reputable real estate investment firms, including LivCor (Blackstone’s multi-family asset management arm), Sentinel Real Estate Corporation, and DRA Advisors. He has managed Class A, B, and C multi-family communities alongside various property management teams such as Greystar, Pinnacle, Lincoln, Cortland Partners, Bell Partners, and Camden across a range of different investment strategies.
Mark graduated from Lehigh University with a B.A. degree and received his M.S. in Real Estate with a Strategic Real Estate Management concentration from New York University.
Yvonne is responsible for the asset management of GAIA's New York and New Jersey portfolio. Prior to joining GAIA, she worked for ten years in an asset management capacity on various property types. Yvonne started her career at Prologis as an Acquisitions and Asset Management Associate, and then worked for Tritec Real Estate, a regional developer. Yvonne was also Head of Asset Management at Cofinance, a European real estate company with a diverse value-add portfolio.
Yvonne holds a B.A. in Political Science from University of Toronto and a M.S. in Real Estate Development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
With over ten years of experience as Controller at Citipost and having worked for over seven years as Senior Finance Manager at Urban American LLC, Grace is well credentialed to be GAIA’s Controller.
Grace is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from Bernard M Baruch College.
Mor is responsible for overseeing construction within GAIA portfolio. Mor brings construction management experience along with project cost estimation expertise of mixed-use residential developments in NYC. Her role with GAIA involves the preparation and management of capital projects, financial analysis of project hard and soft cost, supervision of project execution, and collaboration with the project team and consultants.
Mor holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Ben-Gurion University and M.S. in Business Operations, Management and Entrepreneurship from Brown University.
Taylor is responsible for assisting in the firm's acquisitions efforts by sourcing, underwriting, and closing new investment opportunities. Prior to GAIA, Taylor worked as a Development Associate for Hanover Company, a national, luxury multi-family developer, and as an Investment Analyst for Vanbarton Group, a NYC-based real estate private equity firm focused on value-add multi-family and office assets in core US markets.
Taylor graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and Mathematics from University of Kentucky and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Elena is responsible for asset management and investor/lender reporting for GAIA’s condominium and office portfolio in New York and New Jersey. She was previously employed by Castle Lanterra Properties where she was an Investment and Asset Management Associate.
Elena has a B.A. in Sociology from Hunter College, CUNY and a M.S. in Real Estate Finance and Investment from New York University.
Kate provides GAIA team members across the country with the necessary skills and resources to implement a community driven living experience through tenant engagement, social events, and wellness classes. Kate’s primary responsibilities include the implementation and execution of the Finch Living platform at all GAIA multi-family assets.
Lynn joined GAIA in April 2015 as an junior accountant. Prior to GAIA, Lynn worked as an accountant for a property management and investment company in New York.
Ms. Lynn holds a B.A. in Accounting from Winthrop University, a M.S. in Finance from Purdue University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Josh is responsible for assisting in the firm’s acquisitions efforts through evaluating, conducting due diligence, and closing new investments. He began his career as an Investment Analyst at Merit Hill Capital, where he was responsible for underwriting property and portfolio-level investments as well as assisting in asset management and investor reporting. Previously, Josh has held internships at PGIM Real Estate and Kimco Realty.
Josh holds a B.B.A. in Finance and Real Estate from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
Nils is responsible for assisting with asset management, financial modeling, project management, client reporting, and property valuation analysis for GAIA’s East Coast and Sun Belt portfolios. Previously, Nils held various internships at L+M Development Partners, El Ad Group, and Mission Capital Advisors. Nils has a B.B.A. from Hult International Business School and a M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University.
Denay manages individual condominium and rental apartments in the GAIA portfolio. Her responsibilities include working directly with owners, tenants, and vendors on a daily basis. Denay holds a B.A. in Communications Arts and Sciences from Pennsylvania State University.
Patrick currently manages the company’s ICM assets. He is responsible for all owner/tenant communication, repair and maintenance requests, and lease management. Prior to joining the company, Patrick worked for 10 years managing luxury condominiums in the Manhattan market for individual investors from Japan, Hong Kong, and NYC.
Aisha manages individual condos in Manhattan and is responsible for owner/tenant communication, rent rolls, vendor oversight, repairs/maintenance, and collections. She has varied experience across several industries and has most recently worked in an accounting and sales administration capacity.
She holds a B.A. in English Literature from Brooklyn College.
As the Accounts Payable Coordinator at GAIA Real Estate, Pat plays a crucial role in the Accounting Department of the company. Her primary responsibilities include completing requisitions for satisfactory payment approval, reviewing invoices, and processing payments to clients in a timely manner. Prior to joining GAIA, Pat had over seven years of experience in Accounts Payable at a property management company. Moreover, she is adept in systems such as Nexus and Payscan.
As the Accounts Payable/Receivable Coordinator for individual condo units, Nannette plays a critical role in the accounting department for the ICM portfolio. Nannette’s primary responsibilities include handling rent collection and ensuring accounts payable/receivable is met in a timely manner. Nannette is fluent is systems such as Nexus, Yardi, and Payscan.
Prior to GAIA, Nannette worked for six years at Douglas Elliman as a accounts payable/receivable specialist and two years at Compass Rock Real Estate. Nanette holds a Bachelors in Business Management as well as an Associate’s degree.
Alison joined GAIA in 2013 as the Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the CEO. She is responsible for maintaining a seamless, efficient work environment and provides executive support to the firm's Partners. Alison is well versed in the real estate industry and has previous experience in property management.
Yan is responsible for assisting in the firm’s construction and design efforts within the Asset Management team. Passionate placemaking, Yan leverages her international design and development experience for hands-on value creation in GAIA’s NYC/NJ portfolio.
Prior to GAIA, Yan worked as an Registered Architect at renowned design firms on complex ground-up developments in United States and Europe - Jonathan Levi Architects in Boston, UNStudio in Amsterdam, and Bjarke Ingels Group in Copenhagen.
Yan graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology & Business from Cornell University, and received a Master in Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
Co-Founders & Board Members
Ken has over 40 years of experience developing, owning, and managing billions of dollars of real estate assets throughout the United States - in both the private and public sectors. He previously served as CEO, and is currently the Chairman and Founder of Extra Space Storage Inc. (NYSE: EXR), the second largest self-storage REIT in the US. He is also the former Chairman of Nevada West Development and its subsidiary WestCorp Management Group ("WestCorp"), which he founded.
Mr. Woolley earned a B.A. in Physics from Brigham Young University, an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a Ph.D. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Between 1978 and 1998, Mr. Woolley served as an Associate Professor of Business at Brigham Young University.
Amir has over 20 years of real estate experience and transacted on over $3 billion worth of US real estate assets. He co-founded GAIA in 2008. Prior to founding GAIA, Amir started Vision Real Estate Group, a New York-based real estate investment and property management company. Mr. Yerushalmi served as President and CEO of Vision until merging its property management arm with GAIA. He is also the Co-Founder and a board member of Vision India Real Estate.
Mr. Yerushalmi earned a B.A. with distinction from Pace University and an M.B.A. from both Columbia Business School and London Business School.
